| ABOUT US Artists Statement Each of you is unique and wants a portrait to make a statement about yourself. It may be a special aspect of your personality or a turninq point in your life. Either way, I want to help you create an artistic and creative expression of a portion or aspect your life. A portrait is not just skin, an outward appearance, but a looking glass of self-expression when words are not enough. The path to that discovery has taken me a long time to learn and during that journey I've learned that photographing anyone, woman or man, is not a matter of following a cookbook of poses and lighting set-ups. Different body types and personalities call for individual approaches. Creating a meaningful and artistic portrait compells me to focus on three facets. Posing: A good pose doesn’t look posed. It looks relaxed and natural for that person. Lighting: Good lighting is dramatic, directional and flattering to the client you just posed... and it reinforces your clients messaqe. Enhancements, retouching and effects -- whether digital or traditional, they are the polish that makes your visual music sing. -- Chris Nelson |
